Course Purpose
This course provides a continuing education opportunity for ROWPs and Professionals working in the BC onsite sewerage industry.
For ASTTBC members (ROWP, CTech, AScT) this course provides Continuing Professional Development within the formal Structured Learning category, at least 3 CPD hours.
For EGBC members (P.Eng., P.Geo.) this course provides Continuing Education within the Technical Learning category, at least 3 CE hours.
This course is suitable for Professionals (P.Eng., P.Geo.) and Practitioners (ROWP) with previous training and experience for onsite sewerage design.
Course Content
This course provides training for the use of online resources from the BC and Federal governments to support site and soil assessments for onsite sewerage design.
- Accessing online resources is a valuble preliminary step before attending the site. We will identify numerous online resources and how to apply that information to your comprehensive site and soil assessment.
- Then … during our design process, online resources can provide critical information regarding soils, wells, water bodies, topography, aerial mapping, development permit requirements and other local bylaws, environmentally sensitive areas, riparian zones etc. We will explore how to use those resources during sewerage system design.
- With time allocated for a question and answer session on any soils related topics.
Format
- Registered participants receive a link to the pre recorded session.
- Instructor led lecture with a case study approach for two sites.
- Participants will discover numerous on-line resources for site-specific soils information, geological surveys, wells information, identification of development permit areas, riparian areas, on line mapping, etc.

Cancellations received at least 7 days prior to course date will result in a full refund. Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course are subject to a $50 administrative fee, with full reimbursement of the remaining balance. Substitutions of attendees is permitted up to and including the day of the course.
EQUIP Training may have to postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment, in which case EQUIP's liability is limited to a full refund of the registration fee.
